Customer Service NVQ L2

Aimed at people working in a customer-focused role.

The programme consists of two mandatory units plus five optional units. 

Mandatory units:

  • Prepare yourself to deliver good customer service
  • Provide customer service within the rules

Optional units include:

  • Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
  • Promote additional services or products to customers
  • Process customer service information
  • Deliver reliable customer service
  • Deliver customer service on your customer’s premises
  • Recognise diversity when delivering customer service
  • Recognise and deal with customer queries, requests and problems
  • Resolve customer service problems
  • Develop customer relationships
  • Support customer service improvements
  • Develop personal performance through delivering customer service

Customer Service NVQ L3

This course is aimed at people working in a customer-focused role who have a chance to bring about permanent improvements in service delivery, such as supervisors and team leaders. The improvements introduced must benefit customers and the organisation.

There are two mandatory units and six optional units.

Mandatory units:

  • Understand customer service to improve service delivery
  • Know the rule to follow when developing customer service

Optional units include:

  • Make customer service personal
  • Use customer service as a competitive tool
  • Organise the promotion of services or products to customers
  • Deliver customer service using serving partnerships
  • Improve the customer relationship
  • Monitor and solve customer service problems
  • Work with others to improve customer service
  • Promote continuous improvement in customer service
  • Gather, analyse and interpret customer feedback

Customer Service Apprenticeships provide work-based learning and development for 16 - 24 year olds. Customer Service apprentices work towards the following qualifications:

Team Leading NVQ L2

This programme is for people who lead a team and are responsible for the team’s performance.

This qualification is made up of four mandatory units and two optional units.

  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
  • Ensure your own action reduce risks to health and safety

Optional Units

  • Encourage innovation in your team
  • Allocate and check work in your team
  • Provide learning opportunities for colleagues
  • Resolve customer service problems
  • Support customer service improvements

Business & Administration NVQ L2

This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of administration staff across a wide range of industries and types of organisation and is for those who are working with some autonomy and personal responsibility. You need to be working as part of a team and ensure the provision of information and resources to others.

To achieve a full award at Level 2 you must complete five units in total; two mandatory units and three optional units.

Mandatory units:

  • Carry out your responsibilities at work
  • Work within your business environment

Optional units include:

  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Organise business travel and accommodation
  • Prepare text from notes
  • Work effectively with other people

This course is aimed at candidates who are involved in developing, implementing and maintaining administrative services for customers and clients.

To achieve a full award at Level 3 candidates must complete six units in total; two mandatory units and four optional units.
